10 Truths: Worship

Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. Ephesians 4:25

Ok, here goes...This is the truth, well, some of it anyway. There's more to be said...later.

Truth is you weren't in church this week.

Truth is it's not the first time, or the second.

Truth is you were missed.

Truth is the community of believers is affected when you aren't there. You know the difference between sitting in a packed sanctuary and sitting in one that is not. I know you do.  We are strengthened by our time together in that place.

Truth is we rejoice in those who are there and mourn those who are not.  No mourn is not too strong a word.
Truth is you missed something great.

Truth is God offered Himself in the sacrifice of His Son to you and you missed it.  You rejected Him.
Rejected is not too strong a word either.

Truth is parents can say no to coaches when practices and games interfere with worship. It's difficult, it's heart-wrenching, but it's your job and it's imperitive and it's feasible and it's life-giving and it's a thousand other things that can only come from Him.

Truth is God's Word endures. It will endure without you, but the reciprocal is not true.

You will not endure without it.

Truth is the commitment to come hear God's Word is the greatest gift you can give your family this Christmas.

Truth is it's what your pastor wants for Christmas too.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.
3 John 1:4
Children of the One True God, take back Sunday morning!   We've let other gods reign far too long.

  2. Love these truths! When I'm tempted to stay home from church because I'm tired, the thought about what blessing I will miss by not going prompts me to get up and go.
